Polocrosse is a brilliant sport, both to play and to watch. The problem is not enough people know about it and even if they do know about it they find it hard to start playing. We plan to work on both these areas but this document is designed to help you as individuals and as clubs to promote polocrosse in your local areas, to attract more spectators to your tournaments and to attract new members to your clubs. DSC_4495 I don’t know the date, but Pam feed at 2:00 and at 3:30 when Ralph came back from plowing Roxie was dead and sourounded by a pit of blood (not a nice picture). She was diagnosed with a Guttural Pouch Bleed. She didn’t suffer and she died quickly. Roxie was 5 this year and showed a great deal of promise in Polocrosse and as the girls next horse.

We could use one of the pics from the Millarville tournie cause Sam rode her there and she looked great.

I don’t have much more info other then this was Pam’s next prodigie and that she will be missed

Foothills Polocrosse Club

Polocrossea fast, exciting and action packed horse sport.

A great family sport for all ages that as the name implies, it is a combination of polo and lacrosse. It is played outside, on a soccer sized grass field, on horseback. This sport can be played on any breed of horse although under 16hh is preferable for agility and proximity to the ground for ball pick-ups. Players are allowed only one horse for their game or tournament. Rider’s use a racquet with a head comprised of loose, thread net, from which a soft sponge rubber ball is carried and thrown. The objective is to score goals by throwing the ball between your opponent’s goal posts. Polocrosse is a team sport. Teams can be any combination of young or old, men and ladies.

The Triangle is fast becoming home to a relatively new and somewhat unusual sport that’s very popular on the West Coast.

It’s actually a spinoff of the oldest team sport in the world. Enthusiasts say one reason it’s catching on is that men and women, young and old compete on the same field, as long as they’re riding a horse. Continue reading »
