Polocrosse is a game for everyone; regardless of your age, riding ability and regardless of whether you are highly competitive or simply want to have a good time with your horses! It is a very fun, very relaxed horse sport and the only requirements you need to take it up are love of horses and the ability to enjoy yourself!
Polocrosse is messing around by yourself with a stick and ball, playing a little impromptu one on one, or perhaps two on two with some friends to full scale tournament play. It’s played throughout the world by people of all ages and riding skills. It’s all polocrosse, and it’s all fun.
Polocrosse is a great sport to offer for riding groups for a number of reasons:
- The whole family can have fun participating at the level appropriate for their skill.
- It improves riders’ horsemanship; to perform well in the game horse and rider have to communicate effectively to react to the game.
- It raises the horses training level
- It gives you a purpose in your riding, to excel at the game requires practice.
- It is something different for you and your horse to do together. It is also a very social-able sport so riding club members can be assured they will make many new friends amongst the polocrosse community.
Polocrosse Canada sees riding clubs as a natural way of growing the sport of polocrosse as it is a team sport and so an already established group of riders is a perfect place to set up a new club. Polocrosse Canada can help clubs with equipment, coaches and materials to deliver introductory sessions to interested riding clubs. Polocrosse Canada wants to work with riding clubs throughout the country to the benefit of both the riding club and the sport itself.
