Les Fraser inducted into the Polocrosse Hall of Fame

Chairman of the Polocrosse Nationals committee, and president of the Warwick Polocrosse, the host club, Les Fraser, was recognised during the tournament for his outstanding service to the sport with induction into the Polocrosse Hall of Fame.

“It certainly was very humbling to be inducted into the ranks of this calibre, and I was very surprised,” he said.

With a 50 year active involvement in the sport, Mr Fraser is fondly referred to as “Mr Polocrosse’.

Mr Fraser was instrumental in launching of the inaugural World Cup held at Morgan Park in Warwick in 2003, and again in 2007. Continue reading

Mane Event

The Mane Event Education Trade Fair. Choose Event. Red Deer, AB. April 27 – 29, 2012.

We have not decided details about going to Mane Event other than that we do plan to attend. Our thought was that some of us would go Friday and spend the night in Red Deer and enjoy the show both Friday and Saturday while those only wishing to come for one day would do so on Saturday. My number is 403-827-7306 or I check my email regularly. I’ll let you know of any more plans or if we do decide to get a hotel there which one and cost and so forth.

Barastoc Nationals 2012

In April 2012 it will give me great pleasure to welcome you to Warwick, Queensland for the Barastoc Australian Polocrosse Nationals.

The event will feature Australia’s elite Polocrosse players competing from 23 – 29 April, 2012.

After successfully staging the two Polocrosse World Cups in 2003 and 2007, the Warwick Club again takes up the challenge to stage Australia’s most prestigious Polocrosse event. Warwick as host club and Queensland as host state will work in conjunction to put together the best Nationals ever witnessed.

All the action will take place at Morgan Park – Australia’s finest Polocrosse facility on the edge of the historic town of Warwick.

Polocrosse clinic at Villeneuve

Hi Al

Thought I would give you an update.
We were all set and ready to go with 14 people anticipated to attend. The weather turned nasty just long enough for us to have to cancel/postpone to a later date. (Unfortunately I would have had to postpone without the weathers interference As I was up all night with throwing up and hadn’t recovered by morning)
Hopefully we can set this up for sometime in the near future although we are nearing the busy time for 4H shows etc. They had a really good cross section of people lined up – from level 1s (walk/trot only) upwards and a few parents.
Hope things are going well with team Canada

Highway Clean-Up

Highway Cleanup

I have confirmed with the Highway Clean-up contact that we will be participating in Highway Clean-Up this year. Date is the first Saturday of May with the 2nd Saturday a weather alternate.

I think between the France Team and Ranahan we would have 30 volunteers. Let me know if you think we could have more. Perhaps Millarville would like to join us? I think we just divide the proceeds by the number of people and distribute accordingly.

I will pick up supplies once they are ready.

We will also need to review the safety video they provide so maybe we could do it after a practice, or maybe have a social night.
