Proposed World Cup Steering Committee

The past 2007 World Cup Team would like to initiate the formation of a 2011 World Cup Steering Committee reporting to Polocrosse Canada for the development and selection of the 2011 World Cup Team. This committee would be run by one or two nominated/volunteers from each Polocrosse club. Time commitment would extend till the end of the 2011 WC event. The committee will create and & forward a 3 year plan covering the following objectives.
- To increase the pool of potential players through recruitment efforts:
- Organize and conduct a series of demos & clinics to attract new players.
- Invitational open house in the spring and fall of each year to introduce potential players to the sport.
- Develop advertising materials, web sites and media attention spelling out polox opportunities.
- To improve the pool of players through better coaching & horsemanship.
- Identify and utilize our existing coaching and training resources.
- Identify and develop local horsemanship and horse trainers.
- Invite international coach(s), trainer(s) to work with our local coaches and players
- Devise an equitable and agreeable system of utilizing the resources among the clubs.
- Fund Raising & Planning
- Develop a budget
- Develop a plan
- Devise and implement fund raising initiatives
- Form a 2011 WC selection committee
- Develop a requirements criteria to be considered for selection as player, coach, manager.
- Request submissions of those interested.
- Form an impartial selection committee
- Choose a team, manager and coach
