Stampede Classic Tournament
| July 6, 2008 | to | July 7, 2008 |
Foothills Polocrosse Club just recently held its 6th Annual Stampede Classic Tournament on the weekend of July 5th and 6th. In attendance were over 40 players some which had traveled from as far as Australia and Florida to join us at the Field of Dreams. Presented at the playing fields were games combining fast exciting ‘A’ level polocrosse with great ‘B’ and ‘C’ level play. The event offered some fabulous weather and food contributing to a fantastic experience for all families and friends involved.
Of special note were the 10 new players young and old that came to the tournament and competed for their first time in an organized series of games. Our hats off to you as you all played well during your games and showed strong horsemanship skills and sportsmanship throughout the weekend.
During the finals on Sunday the winners of the Saturdays games were sorted out, again with great weather it was an exciting day with some very good polocrosse being played. Included on Sunday was a match between visiting players from Australia and ‘B’ grade Canadian players. Everyone was very competitive. See below for the results

New to the Stampede Classic but a big hit with the spectators and player alike was the Pee Wee polocrosse offered for the little ones. Many young players (as young as 3 years old) showed what they could do and we will no doubt see some some of them on the playing field in the future as there were some very talented little players.
The help of everyone at the field was appreciated, and the club is now looking forward to the next tournament to be held at the Millarville Field in August the final local tournament of the season.
